Red Eclipse
Red Ecplipse ist ein freier kostenloser First-Person Shooter der sich an Spielen wie Unreal Tournament oder Team Fortress 2 orientiert.
Vor rund einem Jahr entstand das Red Eclipse Projekt als Weiterentwicklung des Projektes Blood Frontier. Seitdem die Version 1.0 im März 2011 erschien erfreut sich das Projekt wachsender Beliebtheit. Neben dem üblichen FPS-Elementen wie Capture the Flag haben sich die Entwickler einige neue Spielprinzipien ausgedacht und riesiges Waffenarsenal zur Verfügung gestellt.
Auf der Cube 2 Engine basierend, ist es nicht verwunderlich, dass das Spiel (auch wenn nicht angegegeben) auf einem durchschnittlichen Computer ruckel frei läuft. Dies ist auch wichtig, denn das Spiel erfordert schnelle und präzise Kontrolle über die Spielfigur, denn die Gegner können mitunter extrem schnell sein.
Während der Singleplayer Modus in dieser Version noch vernachlässigt worden ist, legen die Entwickler besonderen Wert auf die Multiplayer-Fähigkeit. Ein Server ist schnell gefunden und schon kann man sich ins getümmel stürzen.
Wem das Spielen von den von der Community erstellten Maps zu langweilig ist, der kann auch seine eigene erstellen und sie mit den anderen Mitspielern teilen. So kann man sich sicher sein, dass es einem nicht so schnell langweilig wird.
Für Fans es Genres ist das Spiel absolut empfehlenswert.
